Judicial Review
Judicial Review is an action in public law that can be taken by a party who is a stranger to the matter.
The High Court in Northern Ireland operates a supervisory role over the actions taken by public authorities and challenges can be brought by you or a party if you believe that a decision made by a public authority has been made wrongly.
If you wish to take such action to resolve an error of law you must demonstrate a sufficient interest in the matter and comply with the strict time limits. It is therefore essential legal advice is sought as a matter of urgency.
Legal aid can be obtained for mounting a judicial review depending on your circumstances. However if legal aid is not available, we can make applications to other agencies that fund cases, which would be in the public interest to do so.
